Galaxy Macau played host to welcome the UFC’s return to Macau in style, featuring two nights of the opening round of ROAD TO UFC Season 5, followed by the headline event UFC Fight Night Macau: Song vs Figueiredo. Across the three nights of competition, nearly 20,000 spectators gathered at Galaxy Arena, filling the venue with excitement and energy. Together with the live broadcast in Asia and beyond, the event further elevated Macau’s profile as a “City of Sports” and contributed to its winning tourism streak. Moreover, GEG also invited several local sports organizations to experience the vibrant event, strengthening its connection with the community.

Held on the evening of 30 May, UFC Fight Night Macau became the highlight of the week. In the main event, China’s Song Yadong took on Brazilian star Deiveson Figueiredo in a thrilling showdown. After an intense exchange, Song secured victory midway through the second round and was awarded Performance of the Night. The event also attracted celebrities including Daniel Wu and Philip Ng, adding to the electric atmosphere inside the Galaxy Arena.

In the co-main event, Zhang Mingyang faced Alonzo Menifield in a fierce light heavyweight contest, which was later named Fight of the Night. In another featured matchup, former UFC title challenger Kai Asakura of Japan knocked out rising prospect Cameron Smotherman in the first round, earning a Performance of the Night bonus.

The 2026 edition of UFC Fight Night Macau also marks the first event under Galaxy Macau’s four-year strategic partnership with the UFC. At least two more events will be hosted in the future, bringing continued momentum to Macau’s tourism industry, economy, and international profile.
