Philanthropy refers to promoting or supporting causes deemed to be for the public good, often via the the donation of generous financial and other resources. Under Macau law, philanthropy is specifically referred to as supporting public service activities. In recent years, Macau’s corporate entities have provided widespread support in the recovery from Typhoon Hato, provided medical supplies throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and supported the elderly, among many others. In recent years various large Macau companies have provided million of patacas in cash donations to provide relief after natural disasters in mainland China.

Melco volunteers support post-Typhoon Ragasa community recovery efforts
