The Rui Cunha Foundation recently hosted a digital illustration exhibition titled “Geometric Elements”.

The solo personal exhibition featured the works of Macau artist Benson Lam, with the artist displaying a collection of 25 digital illustrations and 3D paper modeling, covering themes such as city landscape, urban culture, intercultural remixing, mythical personality, religion, surrealism and pets.

Lam stated that the showcased works were inspired by a series of geometric elements. The art pieces present various styles of geometric combinations, utilizing both densely and sparsely packed triangles. The use of geometric patterns in these illustrations brings a vibrant and colorful impression to the audience.

Lam specifically highlighted one of the artworks that was crafted using geometric paper sculpture, demonstrating that these creations can also be realized in 3D form. While 3D technology is commonly applied in interior design and decoration, it also represents one of Lam’s specialized skills.

Born in Macau, Lam has worked in various cities around the world, including Hong Kong, Milan, Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, London and New York, as well as in mainland China. As a photographer and design professor, he excels in commercial space design and is a recognized expert in brand window display design.

Lam has previously exhibited his work at Galeria FRC, both individually with “Divine Beasts” in 2020 and as part of the collective exhibition of “FRC 10th Anniversary” in 2022.
