The Rui Cunha Foundation has celebrated the 13th anniversary of its establishment by inviting renowned local artist Ung Vai Meng to organize a solo exhibition of his works entitled “Lines • Sensation”.

The exhibition is organized by the Rui Cunha Foundation and supported by the Faculty of Humanities and Arts of the Macau University of Science and Technology. A total of 21 recent works by Ung Vai Meng are on display, covering a wide range of creative series including on-site sketching in Beijing, Macau, Portugal and Italy, as well as artworks capturing the fleeting figures of dancers in pitch-black theatres.

Using mottled water stains as a medium, Ung Vai Meng creates minimalist paintings that lie between abstraction and figuration, bringing the audience a new experience like the sound of music. In addition, Ung Vai Meng has created three works with the human body as the theme for this exhibition, demonstrating his unique artistic language.

The exhibition not only showcases his artistic achievements but also demonstrates the Rui Cunha Foundation’s support for the development of local arts and culture, making it a cultural feast not to be missed by art lovers.

In order to provide art lovers with an in-depth understanding of the exhibition, the Foundation also held a seminar on 16 April at the Lecture Theatre on the ground floor of the building, where Ung Vai Meng personally gave a talk on the background and concept of line art.
