Melco’s City of Dreams recently hosted a grand ceremony to mark the launch of its new brand chapter, “Be A Dreamer.” The highlight of the event was the official debut of Dream Entrance, a large-scale art installation specially commissioned for City of Dreams by renowned contemporary artist Daniel Arsham.

Tim Kelly, President of City of Dreams Macau, said, “The launch of the new chapter ‘Be A Dreamer’ marks a further elevation of the brand promise ‘Dream Beyond’ of City of Dreams, City of Dreams is far more than a destination defined by visionary architecture, Michelin-starred gastronomy, legendary entertainment and contemporary art; it is a dream engine, continuously inspiring dreams beyond luxury.

Tim Kelly, President of City of Dreams Macau

“We believe that true luxury lies in transcending what is seen and co-creating imagination. Guided by this vision, City of Dreams will continue to introduce world-class artistic and cultural experiences, further support the strengthening of Macau’s position as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure while injecting sustainable cultural vitality into the city.”

Dream Entrance was officially unveiled at the Cotai Strip entrance of City of Dreams Macau. The art piece marks the artist’s first use of two hollow sculptural heads facing each other. Intricately carved staircases within the heads create a visual and psychological “labyrinth” – metaphorically representing the complexity of human consciousness and thought. The spiraling staircases seem to descend into depth while visually suggesting cyclical motion and suspension. Horses leaping from the labyrinth’s depths disrupt the structure’s stillness with its dynamic form, representing power, forward momentum and vitality. By blending Eastern and Western symbols, the art piece creates a cross-cultural spiritual dialogue and resonates in the international art context.
