Melco Resorts & Entertainment Presents: “Leia Zhu and the Macao Orchestra” was recently held at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium, where 19-year-old violin prodigy Leia Zhu made her Macau debut.

At the concert, Zhu was joined by the Macao Orchestra and its Music Director and Principal Conductor, Lio Kuokman, for the mesmerizing performance of Sibelius’ technically demanding “Violin Concerto in D minor.” The Macao Orchestra also presented Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 in G Major, featuring the ethereal voice of soprano Vivian Yau in “Das himmlische Leben.”

In addition, Melco co-hosted a “Meet the Musicians” sharing session, offering young people the opportunity to interact up close with Zhu and Lio.
Melco extended invitations to the community through partners including Macao Conservatory’s School of Music, Academia de Música São Pio X, Sheng Kung Hui Astor Shore, and Macau Autism Association. Approximately 120 attendees joined the event, including local music students, community members, as well as Melco parent-child volunteers.

Melco Board Director Clarence Chung said, “Melco is honored to continue our close collaboration with the Macao Orchestra in bringing world-class performing arts to the city and strengthening cultural exchanges with the nearby regions. Welcoming a phenomenal young talent like Leia Zhu for her Macau debut perfectly reflects our ongoing commitment to nurturing youth talent and enriching local cultural life. Through such extraordinary performances and youth-focused engagement events at Studio City, we aim to inspire the next generation of local musicians and further enhance Macao’s status as a global hub for arts and culture.”
