MGM has set new participation records again, this time for its “9th MGM Golden Lion Summer Camp,” which gathered more than 200 students aged 14 to 18 from 41 local secondary schools, helping broaden their horizons outside the classroom and enhance their understanding of national development and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.
The camp kicked off on 13 August at MGM COTAI Ballroom, where participants were joined by distinguished guests including Chan Chak In, Acting Head of Department of Non-tertiary Education of the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government (DSEDJ); Vincent Wan, Executive Secretary of Young Men’s Christian Association of Macau (YMCA); Michelle Chiu, Vice President of Human Resources of MGM; and Nichols Cheung, Executive Director of HR Partner & Employee Services of MGM.
The first day encompassed team-building and experiential activities, with archery tag, high-rope courses, AR live-action combat games and outdoor orienting – helping build communication, adaptability, resilience and teamwork skills.
Over an evening campfire, the participants engaged with MGM management team members to learn about their professional journeys.
On the second day, students visited the By-Health Transparent Factory’s Nutrition Explore Center, located in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, to learn about nutritional science and innovations in the health and wellness industry, engaging with technology and gaining real-world knowledge to help inspire their personal growth and inspire their academic and career paths.
Speaking of the two-day experience Wendy Yu, Executive Vice President of Human Resources of MGM, noted, “This year’s record-high participation not only reflects the program’s broad community recognition but also demonstrates young people’s growing enthusiasm for diverse learning.”
