“Wynn Presents – 2023 Macau Snooker Masters” sees eight Snooker Giants competing

The “Wynn Presents – 2023 Macau Snooker Masters” took place at the end of December at Wynn Palace in Macau, featuring eight top international professional players. Mark Williams triumphed, claiming the champion’s prize money of GBP 80,000 (MOP 813,000).

The eight players to compete were seven-time World Snooker Championship winner Ronnie O’Sullivan; Ding Jun Hui, the first Asian player to reach the world number one snooker ranking; Judd Trump; Mark Williams; Kyren Wilson; Jack Lisowski; Si Jia Hui and Marco Fu from Hong Kong, China who has been recognized as a Global Chinese Outstanding Youth. After five intense days of competition, Williams defeated Jack Lisowski 9-6 to win the crown.

The event was organized and hosted by hosted by Wynn Resorts (Macau) S.A., with support from the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, and was jointly organized by StarMac Entertainment & Production Limited, Macao Billiards General Association, and Sailing Up Sports.

Wynn expressed its intention to continue to leverage its international connections to bring more high-end events and projects to Macau, saying, “By hosting events such as the Masters Invitational Tournament, we aim to attract more top-tier sports events from around the world to give residents and visitors from around the world an opportunity to experience the unique culture of Macau’s sporting events, advance the collaborative development of the city’s tourism and leisure sports industries, solidify Macau’s role as a world center of tourism and leisure, and expand Macau’s international tourism market.”

Mark Williams commented after the match, “Overall, I played pretty well and am happy with the win! Jack played well too. The organizing of this event has been fantastic, and I’d like to thank everyone involved in putting this tournament together. Hopefully this will lead to a major ranking tournament on the tour, and I look forward to seeing you all again in Macau in future.”
