- “Love in Action – Social Service Practice Program” aims to promote youth participation in social services.
- The Program has over 220 participants registered as of April.
The Macao Community Youth Volunteers Development Association, in collaboration with the Centre of Service of Tele-Assistance “Peng On Tung” of Macao, launched the “Love in Action – Social Service Practice Program” at the beginning of this year, with 220 participants registered as of April.
Aini Leong, Chairman of the Macao Community Youth Volunteers Development Association, stated during the launch ceremony that the association is committed to promoting youth participation in social services. In addition to promoting the diversified development of volunteer services, they aim to strengthen the dissemination of content related to current affairs, community issues and livelihoods.
This initiative aligns with the trend of the Macau SAR Government’s gradual introduction of electronic services such as the “Macao One Account”, “Business & Associations Platform” and the “Macau Community Pass” launched by The General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau (UGAMM).
The program involves annual regular volunteer visits where young volunteers undergo various training sessions, including tutorials on electronic service software usage, understanding social issues, livelihood welfare and fraud prevention. They then communicate community messages to elderly users of the “Peng On Tung” service, with the goal of providing high-quality and efficient volunteer services.
The Macao Community Youth Volunteers Development Association has always been dedicated to developing youth volunteer work, allowing young people to understand the community through direct participation in volunteer services, fostering their concern for social development.
It is hoped that through this program, the collective power of youth in practicing kindness can enrich leisure time, enhance personal experiences and contribute to the maintenance of harmonious and inclusive community living.
