On the grand opening weekend of its Studio City Cinema in late June, Melco Resorts & Entertainment invited 350 community members to a complimentary movie screening, allowing them to experience the cinema’s facilities.

The event was organized in collaboration with several community partners. Melco stated that the event was part of the company’s “Simple Acts of Kindness” initiative, which aims to spread warmth and goodwill in the community through small gestures.

Participants in this event included members from The Macau Association for Intellectual Development Services, YMCA Macau, Macau Federation of Trade Unions, Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office – Astor Shore (Star of Hope), Macau Special Olympics, Macau Autism Association, Women’s General Association of Macau and Fuhong Society of Macau.

Local children, youth and families were invited to the special movie day. Additionally, Melco Volunteer Team members were encouraged to bring along their children as an extension of the company’s “Teaching Children Values” initiative.

Melco parent-child volunteer team member Tim Leong from the Information Technology department said, “Today has been a great volunteering experience for myself and my six-year-old son. The event was an invaluable opportunity to help him understand the importance of showing kindness and caring for others through action, and that even simple acts can mean a lot to others.”

Kevin Benning, Senior Vice President, Property General Manager of Studio City, stated, “We are honored to welcome so many community members to enjoy the movie facilities at our brand-new Studio City Cinema during its opening weekend. Thank you to our community partners and our volunteers, together with their children, for supporting and enabling the event. We hope everyone has a great time together with their families and friends and we look forward to developing more programs for the community’s families to enjoy at Studio City.”
