Melco Resorts & Entertainment held a Responsible Gaming (RG) Photo Exhibition at Studio City at the end of August, with support from the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ), Social Welfare Bureau and the University of Macau (UMAC).
Melco emphasized that the exhibition was designed to raise awareness of responsible gaming among guests and the broader community. The company has long upheld the principles of responsible gaming, actively fulfilling its corporate social responsibility and promoting a culture of responsible gambling. Melco’s RG Steering Committee, established in 2008, is personally led by Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho.
Speaking about the exhibition’s opening ceremony, Mr Ho said, “In our aim to promote RG and an attitude of staying in control, the company strives to differentiate itself in the industry by upholding stringent RG standards.
“Exceeding regulatory requirements in all jurisdictions, we are dedicated to continuously enhancing fair and safe gaming experiences for our guests and colleagues. We are honored to host this photo exhibition to help promote the culture of RG to our guests, colleagues and the broader community.”
Additionally, Melco held a dedicated advanced level seminar for its RG Ambassadors at Studio City. The seminar, led by Professor Davis Fong from UMAC’s Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming, attracted 102 participants.
Melco’s RG Ambassadors are frontline managers and experts on all responsible gaming matters. They receive professional training to support guests and colleagues facing responsible gaming challenges, including offering self-exclusion options and referrals to professional counseling services.
Melco noted that since 2021, it has been the first and only integrated resort operator globally to have all its properties accredited with the “RG Check” certification.
