In mid-October, Melco Resorts & Entertainment hosted a graduation and intake ceremony for colleagues who completed the company’s “Culinary Foundation Acceleration Program” (Culinary FAP) and the program’s new participants. During the event, Melco also recognized 100 of its top chefs for their exceptional skills and contributions.

Launched in 2021 in partnership with the Labour Affairs Bureau and the Macao University of Tourism (UTM), the Culinary FAP is the first professional development initiative in Macau focused on the culinary arts. The 12-month program offers participants extensive training in various culinary disciplines, including diverse cuisines, food safety, cost control, kitchen design and customer behavior.

Since its inception, 42 local trainees have successfully graduated from the program, achieving a graduation rate of 88%. Over 55% of the graduates have already been promoted to new roles. Melco’s Chairman and CEO, Lawrence Ho, emphasized the company’s commitment to local talent development through diverse learning opportunities aimed at enhancing professional skills and career growth. He congratulated the program’s graduates for their achievements, welcomed the new participants and expressed gratitude for the contributions of the 100 outstanding chefs, whose efforts have been integral to Melco’s globally recognized culinary standards.
