Melco and the Women’s General Association of Macau celebrate outstanding mothers at annual award ceremony

  • Melco co-hosted the fifth annual “Best Mom Award” ceremony.
  • The event aims to support women in embracing life’s choices and realizing their full potential.

Melco, in partnership with the Women’s General Association of Macau, hosted the “Best Mom Award” ceremony at Studio City in late October.

Now in its fifth year, the “Best Mom Award” has attracted over 800 participants since 2019. This year’s theme, “Uniting Macau and the Greater Bay Area in Pursuit of Shared Dreams”, welcomed 167 participants, including for the first time mothers from across the Greater Bay Area (GBA). Following a rigorous selection process, 20 outstanding mothers received excellence awards. The ceremony also debuted the “Outstanding Patriotic Award” for significant contributions from women in the GBA.

The ceremony featured heartfelt stories from awardees, vibrant performances and a screening of “The Volunteers: To the War”, attended by over a hundred guests, including past winners and local families. Melco and the Women’s Association also unveiled plans to compile and publish stories from the past five editions of the awards, deepening their community involvement.

Lawrence Ho, Melco Chairman and CEO, said, “We are honored to celebrate the double anniversaries of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and Macau’s handover, as well as the fifth anniversary of the ‘Best Mom Award’ in collaboration with the Women’s Association. Extended to offer recognition to moms from across the Greater Bay Area, this year’s event not only celebrates the contributions of women from cities across the GBA, but also promotes deeper and more meaningful relationships between the area.

“Melco’s ‘Best I Can Be’ Women’s Initiatives philosophy will continue to encourage women to embrace life’s choices, and to help them feel inspired by making such choices to bring out the best in oneself. In partnership with the Women’s Association, we will strive to build a healthier and more sustainable environment for everyone in the community.”
