Melco Resorts & Entertainment recently partnered with Fuhong Society of Macau Happy Art Studio and Escola Kai Chi to co-host art workshops at City of Dreams’ “Crowning Journey of Jean-Michel Basquiat” event.
Melco revealed that the event welcomed around 60 community members, including families of children with special needs, providing them an opportunity to delve into urban art culture while exploring the life and works of the legendary artist.
As part of its commitment to inclusivity, Melco offered guided tours to local community groups, immersing participants in Basquiat’s vibrant creative world through diverse installation artworks. Attendees also took part in an art exchange session with local artist MCZ_Thomas, where they designed unique ceramic plate creations. The activity fostered creativity and camaraderie among participants, who took their completed pieces home as keepsakes.
The “Crowning Journey of Jean-Michel Basquiat” is jointly hosted by Melco and Artelli, an immersive multi-dimensional art space, with the support of the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Cultural Affairs Bureau.
Spread across four key zones at City of Dreams Macau – the Main Portal, Southwest Entrance (outdoor area), The Showroom and Artelli – the event presents an innovative array of large-scale art installations, multimedia displays, immersive experiences and interactive elements. By breaking free from the confines of traditional canvases, the event invites visitors to embark on a one-of-a-kind journey into the mind and imagination of this iconic art superstar.
