  • This year MGM arranged for participants to join the Golden Lion Volunteer Team in community service.

MGM’s annual summer program, “The MGM Experience”, returned in July this year. The program has been held for 14 consecutive years with MGM this year arranging for participants to join the Golden Lion Volunteer Team in community service, attracting 200 students from 33 secondary schools – the highest number of participating schools ever.

Over the two-day MGM Experience, participants gained hands-on experience working in various departments of a comprehensive resort hotel, including food and beverage, front desk, luggage services, spa and fitness, and human resources.

In addition to the work experience, participants visited the Macau Special Olympics and Fuhong Society of Macau, where they took part in inclusive workshops. They also spent time with the elderly at the elderly care centers under Caritas Macau, the Macao Federation of Trade Unions and the Women’s General Association of Macau to extend care and support.

The program was divided into two sessions, with participants aged between 13 and 17. Recruitment was assisted by the Education and Youth Development Bureau, the Macau Catholic Schools Association and the Chinese Educators Association of Macau, and also included relatives of MGM team members.

Following the conclusion of the activities, MGM organized a sharing session and certificate presentation ceremony on 30 July, inviting four student representatives to share their experiences and insights from the event. Additionally, MGM invited Kate Lai, a recipient of the “Macau Outstanding Teenagers Award”, to share her journey in discovering her future aspirations and her experiences in participating in volunteer teaching and contributing to society.

Kenneth Feng, President and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited, said, “Through ‘The MGM Experience’, we introduce young people to the caring culture of MGM, allowing them to experience teamwork within the company and the value of giving back to the community. We hope to inspire them to become compassionate and responsible members of the next generation, contributing to a more inclusive society in Macau.”
