MGM has announced that, from now until 31 August, it is partnering with One Central Macau to present the “HAHALULU x MGM Trend Art Exhibition,” bringing the hugely popular Eastern trend art IP HAHALULU to Macau for the first time.
Spanning five months, the exhibition brings trend art into MGM’s public spaces and incorporates dining and social interaction elements, with the aim of promoting cultural appreciation in a more every day, accessible way and creating an integrated “Culture + Tourism + Commerce” one-stop experience.
According to the organizer, HAHALULU will gradually appear across various public areas at MGM MACAU during the exhibition period and is scheduled to extend in May to more key locations as well as One Central Macau, creating additional spots for residents and visitors to pause, enjoy, interact and take photos to share.
At this stage, the exhibition’s main venue is the Grand Praça of MGM MACAU, where a dedicated “gourd-shaped” themed zone has been created. The centerpiece is a 5.4-meter-tall giant pink plush installation, symbolizing the auspicious message of “where blessings begin.” Surrounding it are multiple smaller HAHALULU figures in different forms and colors. A themed floating light show will also be presented at night, adding to the immersive viewing experience.
The Grand Praça features Dennis Chan’s “HAHALULU Masters Tribute Series” in which HAHALULU playfully steps into classic Western masterpieces by Van Gogh, da Vinci, Vermeer and others, creating an engaging cross-cultural dialogue.
On the culinary side, MGM MACAU’s Pastry Bar is launching HAHALULU limited-edition themed desserts and beverages during the exhibition. The HAHALULU Milk Soft Serve, featuring an adorable design, offers a treat that is made for both tasting and photo moments.
