- Over 2,000 SJM Team Members Celebrate the 77th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.

SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”), in collaboration with the SJM Staff Welfare Consultative Committee (“SWCC”) and the SJM Joint Consultative Committee, hosted a reception to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China on 8 October at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau.
Members of SJM’s Board of Directors and management joined over 2,000 team members to celebrate National Day and convey their best wishes for the continued prosperity of the nation and the sustained stability and development of Macau.
The reception opened with a solemn flag-raising ceremony. SJM’s flag-raising team escorted the national flag into the venue. As the five-star red flag was raised to the resounding strains of the national anthem, guests and team members stood in solemn respect and paid tribute to the nation.
At the flag-raising ceremony, SJM’s management, guests and team members stood to attention as the national flag was raised.
In her address, Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM, said: “For more than six decades, SJM has been deeply rooted in Macau, drawing strength from the nation and growing alongside the city. As the national 15th Five-Year Plan begins, Macau embarks on its Third Five-Year Plan, and development of the Greater Bay Area and the Hengqin Cooperation Zone continues to accelerate, SJM will continue to build on its strengths across three areas: green development, Hengqin-Macau integration and ‘Tourism+’ innovation. ”
She added, “Our experience over the past six decades has shown that a company can only achieve greater progress when it contributes to the nation’s overall development. Looking ahead, we will keep pace with the times, uphold our principles while pursuing innovation, and contribute to Macau’s high-quality development.”
Angela Leong, Director of SJM and Chairman of SWCC, also said: “SJM has always remained committed to loving the nation and Macau, staying rooted in the local community and giving back to society. Guided by Dr. Stanley Ho’s people-centred philosophy, the SWCC is dedicated to caring for our team members and fostering a corporate family with warmth, care and a sense of belonging. ”
She noted, “The company’s development and progress are made possible by the efforts and contributions of every team member. Their dedication has been the foundation of SJM’s success. Looking ahead, we will remain united with our team members, seize new opportunities and create an even brighter future together.”
Following the ceremony, members of SJM’s Board of Directors and management joined team members in a toast, extending their best wishes for the nation’s prosperity and Macau’s continued growth and development. Highlights of the reception were also broadcast across back-of-house areas at SJM’s properties, enabling team members who remained on duty to share in the National Day celebrations.
As the first integrated resort operator in Macau to introduce structured patriotic education programmes and study tours focused on China’s revolutionary heritage, SJM continues to deepen team members’ understanding of national development and foster a strong sense of patriotism through initiatives such as sharing sessions on the spirit of the Two Sessions, the Jiangxi Jinggangshan Patriotic Education and Training Programme, which marks its tenth edition this year, and the “My Motherland GBA Tour”.
