  • GEG launched the book “Macau’s Karting History” in conjunction with the 71st Macau Grand Prix.
  •  The event forms part of a broader series of activities themed around the Macau Grand Prix, co-organized MGTO and various IR companies.

In conjunction with the 71st Macau Grand Prix, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) unveiled Macau’s Karting History at a special book release event held at the Macao Grand Prix Museum in early November.

Sponsored by GEG and published by the local publisher Praia Grande Edições, the book chronicles the evolution of kart racing in Macau. Featuring over 140 images, it offers an in-depth look at Macau’s vibrant racing culture and its pivotal role in developing the sport, aiming to ignite a passion for motorsport among the general public.

The book launch event featured not only the authors, Pedro Da Mesquita and Carlos Barreto, but also invited guest speakers including champion kart racers and coaches Johnny Afonso and Daniel Tam Ka Keong. They shared personal anecdotes from the racetrack, discussed the progression and future outlook of kart racing in Macau, the challenges and triumphs faced by racers, and the broader impact of motorsport culture.

In addition to the launch, GEG has committed to donating copies of the book to all middle and high schools as well as public libraries throughout Macau. Those interested in experiencing kart racing firsthand are encouraged to visit the Coloane Karting Track, offering a unique blend of “tourism + sports.”

This event forms part of a broader series of activities themed around the Macau Grand Prix, co-organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and various integrated resort companies throughout November at the Macao Grand Prix Museum.

The MGTO emphasized that these collaborations between the government and local resort enterprises are designed to enhance Macau’s allure, further establishing the city as a “World Center for Tourism and Leisure” and enhancing Macau’s global reputation as a sophisticated “golden calling card”.
