MGM co-organizes successful “2024 MGM Macau Tennis Masters”

The “2024 MGM Macau Tennis Masters” was held on 24 and 25 December 2024 in Macau. The event returned with a brand-new tournament format led by two iconic captains, offering a dazzling blend of sports and holiday spirit to tennis fans.

The event was led by tennis legends Li Na and Michael Chang, each heading a team of three top ATP and WTA players. Their leadership delivered an exciting blend of fun and high-stakes competition for the audience.

Li Na’s team included rising Chinese tennis stars Shang Juncheng and Wang Xinyu, along with world-class Norwegian player Casper Ruud. Michael Chang’s team boasted an equally strong lineup, with Russian ace Andrey Rublev, Czech talent Karolina Muchova and Japanese player Kei Nishikori.

The tournament kicked off with a lively “Captain Challenge” match, followed by a series of singles and mixed doubles games. Each match showcased exceptional skill and entertainment value. Ultimately, Chang’s team secured victory with six points, clinching the win ahead of the final matches. Players later engaged with fans, signing autographs and sharing exclusive memorabilia, leaving the audience with unforgettable memories.

Beyond the matches, Li and Muchova conducted a tennis clinic at the Macau Tennis Academy, mentoring young players aged 9 to 18. They were joined by Chang and Wang for a lively Mini Tennis exhibition, inspiring aspiring athletes and promoting tennis within the community.

The “2024 MGM Macau Tennis Masters” was co-organized by MGM and IMG, with full support from the Sports Bureau of Macao SAR Government, Macao Government Tourism Office and the Macau Tennis Association. Official partners included outfitter FILA, airline sponsor EVA Air and beverage partner Bonaqua.
