Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has partnered with the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) since 2023 to deliver the “GEG Integrated Resort Youth Development Program”, offering up to 300 hours of professional courses and vocational training. To date, the program has provided new career development opportunities for more than 180 talented Macau locals.
The initiative spans multiple sectors, including Food & Beverage, Hotel & MICE Operations, Integrated Resort Services, Security Operations & Asset Protection and Transportation. The curriculum encompasses pre-employment, on-the-job, professional certification courses and training on GEG’s unique “Asian Heart” service philosophy, among others. Experienced industry professionals and department heads mentor participants to build foundational skills and professional expertise.
To recognize the achievements, GEG recently held the “GEG IR Youth Program Talent Development Showcase and Ceremony”.
Wong Chi Hong, Director of DSAL, noted that the nine special programs launched with GEG have achieved remarkable results. He thanked GEG for actively supporting local talent by facilitating the acquisition of nationally and internationally recognized professional certifications and creating a sustainable career pathway for local residents.
Eileen Lui, Group Director of Human Resources and Administration of GEG, shared that the GEG training team spent six months carefully designing the program’s courses and content. On average, participants obtained four industry-recognized certifications, with many securing promotions or new roles. She added that GEG would continue working with DSAL to bolster the talent pool for Macau’s integrated tourism and leisure industry.
Moses Chan, a GEG team member who completed the program, said at the ceremony that the mix of training and hands-on experience helped improve their skills “in a short time, benefitting my career development.”
