Sands China closed out a successful year of responsible gaming initiatives in 2024, further strengthening its long-standing efforts to engage communities, team members and visitors.

“Sands China is pleased to see the continued success of our thorough responsible gaming program,” said Grant Chum, CEO and Executive Director of Sands China Ltd. “Through efforts such as roadshows, donations and training, we engaged team members, visitors and the Macau community to spread awareness, transfer knowledge and develop skills in the area of responsible gaming.”

In 2024, all five Sands China casinos passed the “Responsible Gambling Indicators” program and the Sands Macao casino received the “Responsible Gaming Implementation Model Unit”, marking the third consecutive time the company became the first concessionaire of the calendar year to achieve this qualification.

The company also donated MOP 1 million to five local social service organizations, supported 52 back-of-house roadshows attracting over 37,000 visits and delivered 70 RG training sessions totalling more than 6,000 hours.

Notably, Sands China expanded its flagship Responsible Gaming Ambassador program in partnership with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the University of Macau. Ambassadors participated in local and cross-border exchanges, including a visit to Hong Kong’s Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.

Sands China also stepped-up community engagement with public campaigns, including a six-day RG exhibition at The Venetian Macao that attracted over 75,000 visitors. Street interviews, carnivals, online contests and youth-focused content formed part of the company’s outreach.

Sands China’s “Responsible Gaming Runners” initiative, launched last year in September, connected wellness with gaming responsibility, promoting moderation and self-discipline.

Operating under the Sands Responsible Gaming Academy – part of the broader Sands China Academy – the company’s RG program is committed to promoting the education and well-being of its guests and team members in recognition of the importance of responsible gaming in the Macau community.
