The opening ceremony of the “GEG Macau Special Olympics Inclusive Table Tennis Fun Day 2025” was held at East Square of Galaxy Macau on 19 October. The day not only marked the 15th consecutive year of Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) organizing the fun day but the 50-day countdown to the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games.

GEG also featured inclusive doubles and elite challenge tournaments, and a game experience zone at Broadway Macau, where over a hundred participants gathered to forge friendships through sport, heralding the upcoming National Games in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Attending guests included Wei Jie, Level IV Division Rank Official of the Social Work Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; Pun Weng Kun, Director of the Preparatory Office for the 15th National Games and the 12th National Games for Persons with Disability, and the 9th National Special Olympic Games in Macau; and Annie Loi, Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility of Public Relations of GEG.

Earlier, in anticipation of the “GEG Macau Special Olympics Inclusive Table Tennis Fun Day 2025,” GEG and Macau Special Olympics (MSO) hosted a “DIY Resin Table Tennis Paddle Inclusive Workshop” at East Square of Galaxy Macau. The workshop aimed to foster communication and inclusivity across diverse communities through artistic creation and sporting experiences.

The workshop was part of Galaxy’s Inclusive Creative Arts Projects for “Empathy in Action”. Over 20 participants joined the workshop, including MSO athletes and table tennis players from the GEG Staff Social Club, collaborating to create uniquely designed table tennis bats using colored resin, symbolizing diversity and unity. Participants exercised their creative thinking, blending art and sport to produce distinctive paddles reflecting their individuality.

The lively atmosphere saw participants exchanging insights, showcasing the power of inclusive mutual support. Through this workshop, GEG said it aims to foster unity among diverse communities by consistently organizing such events, promoting the concept of an inclusive society and conveying messages of respect and care through the medium of art.
