  • YAP launched the 2026 9th Youth Talent Political Discussion Scheme.
  • The scheme is open for recruitment to Macau residents aged 15 to 45, and the curriculum has been comprehensively upgraded.

To align with the Macao SAR Government’s Macao Youth Policy, the Youth Association of People (YAP) has officially launched the 2026 9th Youth Talent Political Discussion Scheme.

The program aims to cultivate young community leaders, strengthen youth participation in society, and broaden participants’ horizons.

The current edition will run from 14 June to 12 July 2026. The YAP noted that the scheme is open for recruitment to Macau residents aged 15 to 45. The curriculum has been comprehensively upgraded, with star instructors invited to deliver the courses.

The program covers multiple modules, including explanations of the political system and public policy, practice-oriented community visits and field studies, as well as training in political discussion, civic thinking, and public communication skills. It is intended to help participants gain a deeper understanding of Macau’s social development, build foundational competencies in policy analysis and public deliberation, and develop positive values for engaging in public affairs.

This edition will also introduce, for the first time, an honorary award titled “Top 10 Rising Stars in Political Discussion,” encouraging participants to take an active role. Trainees who complete the full series of courses and practical tasks will receive a certificate of completion, while outstanding performers will be publicly commended.

Since its launch in 2017, the Youth Talent Political Discussion Scheme has trained more than 300 participants in total. Alumni have gradually demonstrated their strengths across different sectors and have offered suggestions on livelihood issues and social development. The Youth Association of People stated that it will continue to build high-quality platforms for youth development and encourage more young people to engage in public affairs.
