The Melco SME Academy continues to deliver training programs tailored to the needs of local enterprises and SMEs operating in today’s global business environment, helping to strengthen corporate capabilities.
In 2025, Melco organized 13 capacity-building workshops, attracting 646 participants from 319 SMEs.
On July 6, Melco hosted a training program at Studio City featuring The Mekong Club, a non-profit organization against modern slavery. The training saw insightful presentations on topics including Human Rights, Modern Slavery, as well as Melco’s Sustainability goals and initiatives delivered. The event attracted over 60 representatives from 44 local SMEs.
To support development and growth, the event also offered a business networking session, for representatives from local SMEs and Melco to meet with one another to better understand mutual business requirements and offerings, as well as identifying opportunities for collaboration.
One of the SME participants, Caryi Cheung, Quality Assurance Officer of City Gourmet Company Limited, said “as a company committed to sustainable development, compliance checks and social responsibility must be considered in addition to price and quality when evaluating and selecting suppliers. ”
She added, “ I have also gained a better understanding of sustainable development and the importance of corporate responsibility in ongoing procurement for the improvement of socio-ecological conditions. These factors are key and cannot be ignored—they must be integrated into daily operations and decision-making.”
Melco SME Academy was established in 2017 to help local businesses succeed by providing access to the latest industry trends and training and technical knowledge, better equipping businesses to face shifting challenges.
