Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) donated MOP 1 million to the Macao University of Tourism Development Foundation (UTMDF) to support UTM’s academic development and institutional advancement. The donation will be used to support the university’s academic development, enhance teaching and research quality, and foster international cooperation, contributing to UTM’s high-quality development.
The donation agreement signing ceremony was held at the Forward Building on UTM’s Taipa campus on September 24. Dr. Cheung Kin Chung, Chair of the Executive Committee of UTMDF, and Mr. Philip Cheng, Director of GEG, signed the agreement.

In his speech, Dr. Cheung expressed gratitude to GEG for its generosity, highlighting that this donation will deepen strategic university-enterprise collaboration. He stated that as a benchmark enterprise in Macau’s integrated tourism and leisure industry, GEG has long been committed to corporate social responsibility, regarding talent nurturing as a vital component for the sustainable development of the industry. The partnership aims to integrate industrial resources into teaching, use academic research to benefit the industry, and promote the exchange of knowledge, talent, and resources, achieving a win-win outcome in talent cultivation, talent pooling, and industrial advancement.

Mr. Philip Cheng emphasized GEG has actively supported the Macau SAR Government’s policy of ‘Building Macau through Talent Training’ and remains committed to nurturing local talent through a wide range of initiatives. He noted that “Through this donation of MOP 1 million to the UTMDF, GEG hopes to support UTM in enhancing its teaching and research capabilities, expanding international exchanges, and cultivating more outstanding professionals who can meet the evolving needs of the industry, thereby contributing talent-driven momentum to Macau’s development as a ‘World Centre of Tourism and Leisure’.”
