• GEG donated MOP200,000 to the “Peng On Tung Charity Foundation” of the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau.

With the Mid-Autumn Festival approaching, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has rolled out community initiatives to support seniors. On 14 September, the kick-off ceremony for the “GEG Arts & Culture Development Program: Beyond Legacy of Cantonese Opera – 2026 GEG Community Caring Program”, title-sponsored by GEG and organized by the Peng On Tung Tele-Assistance Service Centre of the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau (“UGAMM”), was held.

During the event, Buddy Lam, Director of Corporate Affairs of GEG, presented a cheque for MOP200,000 to the “Peng On Tung Charity Foundation”, received by Chan Ka Leong, Director-General of UGAMM. The donation will help people in need access services and promote mutual care.

As part of the “GEG Arts & Culture Development Program,” this year’s initiative focuses on Cantonese opera culture. The ceremony featured a Cantonese opera performance and cultural experience booths. GEG also prepared festive gifts for the elderly and, through the “GEG Volunteer Team ‘Empathy in Action Training Program,” arranged for volunteers to accompany seniors in enjoying booth games and engaging in friendly interactions.

GEG also supported the “Respect and Love the Elderly and Celebration of Elders Day’ Series: GEG Joyful Mid-Autumn Celebration,” organized by UGAMM and co-organized by the Macau Holy House of Mercy, for 13 consecutive years. GEG representatives and members of the GEG Volunteer Team visited the Seac Pai Van Family and Community Integrated Service Center.

Seniors also enjoyed making low-sugar mooncakes led by Daniel Chio, Sous Chef of Galaxy Macau and the first Macau chef selected for the United Nations’ “Young Chefs Program,” alongside tea demonstrations, wellness tea tastings and lantern riddles.
