The “GEG Run with a Partner Training Program,” title‑sponsored by Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and co‑organized with Macau Special Olympics (MSO), has entered its sixth year. The Opening Ceremony and Fun Run Day were recently held, attracting over 150 representatives from local schools and community groups, alongside members of the GEG Runners Club under the GEG Staff Social Club and GEG team members.

The opening ceremony welcomed distinguished guests, including former Hong Kong Olympic Swimmer Alex Fong, who was appointed as the “Ambassador of Health, Inclusion and Care for the Macau Special Olympics.” With GEG’s support, Fong engaged with MSO athletes and participants, sharing the positive impact that sports can bring. A commemorative video celebrating the 6th anniversary of the GEG Run with a Partner Training Program was later screened, highlighting training moments and memorable scenes from events such as the Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon.

Following the opening ceremony, GEG and MSO hosted the Fun Run Day, extending the “GEG Run with a Partner Training Program” from the marathon course into community sports venues for the first time, featuring activities such as team games, sports experiences and interactive workshop. Teams for the competitions included participants with special needs, showcasing teamwork and the values of inclusion through their collaborative efforts in completing various challenges.

In the lively atmosphere, trophies and GEG-sponsored gifts were awarded to the winning teams, while all participants received commemorative items. Additionally, an arts and crafts workshop was held to promote interaction through creative expression. A promotional booth was also set up to introduce the program’s mission and achievements, encouraging more community members to join as volunteer running partners.

In November, Alex Fong, the “Ambassador of Health, Inclusion and Care for the Macau Special Olympics,” will also will take part in two charity initiatives supported by Galaxy Resort, including the “35km Hong Kong-Macau Charity Swim” and the “Wave Upon Waves” Hong Kong and Macau All-Star Charity Concert at Broadway Theatre of Broadway Macau. All ticket proceeds from the concert will be donated to charitable organizations, spreading care and inclusion through sports and music.

As the title sponsor and a co-organizer of the program, GEG said it has continued to actively promote sports inclusion in the community through its “GEG Sports for Good Community Program.” The company has maintained a close and longstanding partnership with MSO, co-hosting the GEG Run with a Partner Training Program for six consecutive years and the GEG Macau Special Olympics Inclusive Table Tennis Fun Day for 16 consecutive years.

In addition, GEG has consistently supported the “MSO Community Promotion Series” and continues to organize team members to participate in MSO’s charitable sports events, supporting the development of MSO athletes through concrete actions while helping create more opportunities for individuals with special educational needs to participate in sports and become more integrated into the community.
