GEG provides diversified opportunities for local talent cultivation and promotion

Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) proactively supports the holistic development and preferential employment of local talent in multi-pronged approaches to cultivate future talent for Macau.

In recognition of Macau’s “1+4” diversification strategy, GEG has collaborated with the Labor Affairs Bureau of the Macau SAR Government and various local organizations to organize more than 30 different activities such as job fairs, workshops, training and lectures – resulting in the recruitment of 650 locals into the GEG family.

Aside from filling vacancies in areas such as food and beverage, environmental services and hotel operations, GEG also provided hopefuls with training in how to write a CV as well as an interview skills workshop at which human resources specialists shared their expertise with participants on a one-to-one basis to boost their confidence and ensure they are prepared for future opportunities.

GEG values team members as its most important assets and proactively supports their professional and holistic development by providing a variety of courses, workshops and lectures.

Over one million hours of professional training was offered in 2022 including new training initiatives and elements, aimed at improving team members’ understanding of the integrated resort and hospitality industries. Since 2021, GEG has increased the promotion rate of local team members to 80%.

Among the many career development programs offered to team members has been a curated six-week secondment program under which they voluntarily gain cross-departmental work experience and professional skills training in a range of non-gaming areas. It is hoped this program encourages team members to step out of their comfort zones and become versatile while pursuing their professional career and acquiring a holistic knowledge about non-gaming sectors.

Guided by experienced human resources professionals, team members conducted self-evaluations and obtained an in-depth and objective understanding of their personalities, strengths and values to help them understand best-fit directions for career development.

To date, the program has recorded more than 1,500 participants.
