The “Macau Brand Pavilion VIP Day Carnival,” co-hosted by Galaxy Entertainment Group, the Industry and Commerce Association of Macau, Guangzhou Industry and Commerce Bureau, and the Macau Guangzhou Community Association was held at the Guangzhou Haiyin Festival Walk Outlet Plaza on February 16. The carnival included a signing ceremony involving many of the represented organizations.
The “Macau Brand Pravilion VIP Day Carnival” was co-launched with Meituan, a well-known digital shopping platform in mainland China. The carnival assisted Macau enterprises to seize business opportunities, cooperate with the SAR government’s policy of enhanced tourism, and use online methods to attract mainland tourists to Macau for consumption.
Mr Kevin Ho, President of the Industry and Commerce Association of Macau, commented that the “Macau Brand Pavilion” has received enthusiastic support, and as of February this year, the order volume of participating businesses has increased by 134% month-on-month. “The event further stimulates the consumption demand of citizens and tourists for tourism in Macau,” Ho said, “And I believe it will show the charm of Macau to more tourists.”
Mr Philip Cheng, Director of Galaxy Entertainment Group, indicated that this carnival will not only help Macau SMEs seize opportunities in the mainland market, but also showcase Macau’s diverse tourism products to mainland tourists, and allow more types of tourists to learn more about Macau through online platforms, and contribute to the development of Macau’s positioning as a world center of tourism and leisure.
“GEG actively creates conditions and provides assistance for the growth and development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Macau, and helps them create business opportunities, so as to support the diversified development of Macau’s economy.”
The signing ceremony was hosted by Wei Guohua, Deputy Director of the United Front Work Department of the Guangzhou Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China; Zhu Zhijuan, Deputy Director of the Guangdong Liaison Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; Kevin Ho, President of the Industry and Commerce Association of Macau; Chan Tze Wai, Assistant Director of the Macau Economic and Technological Development Bureau; Philip Cheng, Director of GEG; Jobbie Cheung, Business Development Director of Solid Bit Hong Kong Limited; and Ng Wah Wai, Chief Executive of the Industry and Commerce Association of Macau.
