World Vision’s “Macao Famine 2023″ flag selling successfully raised MOP$160,000

The “Macao Famine 2023” event organized by World Vision Macau was launched this February. The organization held a series of activities, one of them being the “Macao Famine” flag selling fundraising event, which was successfully completed on 26 March.

The flag selling fundraising activity is one of the key activities of the “Macao Famine”. World Vision Macau said that the flag-selling event helped to raise a total of MOP$160,000 and the money would go to support places in Africa facing food shortages, by providing nutritional treatment, clean water and livelihood assistance to hungry children and their families.

This year’s flag-selling fundraising activities were held in various areas of Macau, including Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida, Porta do Campo, Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro (commonly known as San Ma Lo), Rotunda de Carlos da Maia and high traffic areas. The activity was also assisted by many other organizations, such as schools and local associations, who sent volunteers to help raising funds.

The theme of this year’s “Macao Famine” is “Extreme Hunger”. Different fund-raising events will be held from February to May, including “school famine”, flag selling, drawing competitions for primary school students and more.
