Garfield Lio: creating unique colors for Macau

Macau CSR is collaborating with the Macau Fashion Design Industry Association (MFDIA) to conduct three exclusive interviews with local Macau designers and share the latest developments in Macau’s fashion industry.

Fashion designer Garfield Lio believes that the design industry has broad prospects and development directions. “As a designer, not only should you grasp the professional skills in design theories, but also stay interested and curious towards the world through continuous development of your own creativity and professional skills.”

Talking about his career path, Lio said, “My choices in middle school were poor, but I was fascinated by arts and design.” Because of his interest, he studied graphic design in college and joined the design industry after graduation.

“The path in the design industry has never been easy, many barriers are ahead of us,” he said frankly, even though he has overcome various challenges himself. He enjoys his work as it’s his passion.

He shared his goal of becoming more established in this field, which is full of opportunities, with Macau CSR. Lio says he wants to “create a unique visual color for the ‘concrete forest’ of Macau.”
