To provide more development opportunities to local young people with science and technology innovation expertise, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has joined with the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) of the Macau SAR Government and the Macao Science Center (MSC) to organize the “Program for the Development of Scientific Innovation Talent of Youth Science and Technology Village” to assist young people in their career development in science and technology, and to create favorable conditions for young people to integrate into the overall development of the country.
The program was launched in September. Its annual target is to recruit 100 junior high school students transitioning from Form 3 to Form 4 whose school recommends them as having expertise in the field of science and technology. Qualified students will be provided a training program of three years.
On 30 October, in presence of Ms Ao Ieong U, the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture; Mr Kong Chi Meng, Director of DSEDJ and President of Shareholders of MSC; Mr Francis Lui, Vice Chairman of GEG; and Mr Philip Cheng, Director of GEG; among others signed an agreement to further advance the development of the program.
Mr Kong Chi Meng said in his speech that GEG’s international corporate management experience, top-notch facilities and equipment, as well as resourceful and financial support further contribute to the sustainable development of the program. Mr Philip Cheng thanked the DSEDJ and MSC for their support and trust, and said that GEG will make good use of its own resources and rich experience in operating an integrated resort, in a bid to link up various relevant units and to leverage the synergy between industries, facilitating the cultivation of outstanding young scientific and technological talent.
As part of the program GEG will arrange participants to visit the different amenities and new MICE facilities at GEG’s integrated resort, helping them to gain an in-depth understanding of the utilization and future development of technological innovation in different fields, as well as inviting its professional team members to share insightful knowledge and experiences.
