Rui Cunha Foundation presents Yaya Wai solo exhibition

The Rui Cunha Foundation will present the solo exhibition “Healing Garden”, by local artist Yaya Wai, from November 14 to 25. The exhibition will showcase nearly 30 works by the painter, ranging from realistic to abstract art.

The exhibition delivers the key message of healing and relaxation to the public through artworks depicting beautiful gardens and colors. Among the works, styles range from realism to abstract art, and each work has its own unique scenery and story.

Yaya Wai hopes the exhibition can bring peace to the audience in the midst of busyness, allowing them to escape from the stress and tension of daily life.

“Painting has always been a way for me to relax. I started creating my garden at home, and that’s how the ‘Healing Garden’ started,” said Wai.

According to the artist, the art works on display are a collection of recent works featuring flowers or nature themes, including a series of works entitled “Happy Garden”, which are her memories of her recently deceased father.

“My father passed away in August this year, and he was quite tall. To me, he was like a big tree. So these works are full of my memories of my father.”

The 12-day exhibition will be open to the public from 14 November. Admission is free.
