WeCare Initiative Community Immersive Exhibition was held at NOVA Mall last Friday

To promote gender equality in the family and society at large, and to encourage enterprises to create an environment which is conducive to the professional advancement of women, the Women’s General Association of Macau this year introduced the UN Women China “WeCare” initiative. Through organizing sharing sessions, community immersive exhibitions and other activities, the Association strived to enhance the public’s attention and importance to unpaid care work.

One of the initiative’s activities, the WeCare Initiative Community Immersive Exhibition, launched last Friday. The event is supported by Nova Mall and the IKEA Macau store. From 17 November to 3 December, the exhibition will be open to the public at the mall atrium. There are information display boards, booth games and interactive devices on site, while the IKEA Macau store also launched parent-child family and guided tour activities.

Lau Kam Ling, President of the Women’s General Association of Macau stated at the opening ceremony that “more than 28% of women take on multiple roles of work, covering expenses and completing housework simultaneously.
