The prestigious 2024 Black Pearl Restaurant Guide has recently unveiled its winners, awarding “One-Diamond Restaurant” to two of Wynn’s esteemed dining establishments: the Chinese restaurant Golden Flower at Wynn Macau and SW Steakhouse at Wynn Palace.
“Garnering recognition from the prestigious ‘Black Pearl’ list is a testament to Wynn’s continued commitment toward crafting the finest cuisine and ongoing contribution toward the sustainable development of Macau as a UNESCO-designated Creative City of Gastronomy,” a Wynn company spokesman said.
The upscale Chinese restaurant Golden Flower is helmed by Executive Chef Zhang Zhicheng, who meticulously prepares official Chinese cuisine in a modern way. The restaurant offers a refined gastronomic experience, allowing connoisseurs to savor the rich history and cultural essence of Chinese culinary heritage.
SW Steakhouse, Macau’s classic American steakhouse, garnered the One-Diamond honor from the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide for a third consecutive year. The restaurant boasts a selection of top-grade ingredients from around the world, presenting premium steaks and exquisite seafood. Guests are treated to a memorable theatrical performance, enhancing both the visual and taste experience.
The Black Pearl Restaurant Guide, published by China’s leading online dining and commerce platform Meituan, is compiled by a select group of renowned gourmands, culinary industry experts, food researchers and advocates of culinary culture who select outstanding restaurants based on three aspects – cooking skills, the dining experience and inheritance and innovation. The guide ranks restaurants into three diamond categories, with three diamonds indicating “must-eat restaurants [that are] once in a lifetime”, two diamonds indicating “must-eat restaurants for special occasions” and one diamond indicating “must-eat restaurants for gatherings”.
The guide aims to establish a Chinese standard of culinary excellence, showcasing thousands of years of cultural charm to food enthusiasts in China and globally.
Shortly after the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide announcement, the BAZAAR Taste Elite 2024 Hong Kong and Macao list from Harper’s BAZAAR was released. Golden Flower, along with Wynn Palace’s newest Cantonese restaurant Chef Tam’s Seasons, were named among the “BAZAAR TASTE ELITE 10 | MACAO” top 10 winners. SW Steakhouse, together with Wynn Palace’s new Jiangnan-style restaurant Lakeview Palace, were awarded in the “SPOTLIGHT” category.
