On 1 July, the graduation and welcome ceremony for the “Youth Science and Technology Village” program, co-organized by Galaxy Entertainment Group, the Education and Youth Development Bureau and the Macao Science Center, was held. The event celebrated the first cohort of students who had completed their first year of the program while welcoming new students for the second cohort.

The program connects with several national key laboratories, technology enterprises, higher education institutions and local organizations. Each program cohort sees three years of professional training for 100 Macau Form 4 students specializing in science and technology.

The program covers three major areas: Computer and Technology Networks, Engineering, and Biology and Chemistry. The first cohort of students for the 2023/2024 academic year has completed over 100 hours of lectures and research courses, along with seven local and overseas study tours, and will advance to the second year in the 2024/2025 academic year.

To encourage students to actively study technological knowledge, GEG has specially established the “GEG Rising Potential in Scientific & Technological Innovation” award to recognize the five students who have most actively participated in competitions and activities in the 2023/2024 academic year.

GEG recently organized a study tour for new intakes as part of the program. The study tour included field visits to various leisure and MICE facilities at Galaxy Macau and the Galaxy International Convention Center. Representatives from GEG’s multiple departments also explained the fundamentals of technology operation.

Buddy Lam, Director of Corporate Affairs of GEG, said GEG has always placed great importance on developing local youth talent and has been dedicated to supporting the younger generation in discovering their potential through various means.
