GEG marks 15 years of supporting Macau’s responsible gaming initiatives

Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has underscored its ongoing involvement in the Macau SAR Government’s “Responsible Gambling Promotions 15th Anniversary”.

In mid-July, GEG hosted a four-day “Macau Gaming Industry Development and Responsible Gambling Photo Exhibition” at Broadway Theatre of Broadway Macau, which showcased the evolution of Macau’s gaming industry and responsible gaming efforts to residents and visitors. GEG will also sponsor the venue and equipment for the seminar and closing ceremony of the “Responsible Gambling Promotions 15th Anniversary” on 6 November.

During the exhibition, GEG partnered with the Youth Volunteers Association of Macao (AJVM) to set up game booths, offering insights into the challenges faced by individuals with gambling disorders. The initiative aimed to enhance the understanding of responsible gaming among both residents and visitors. The event also sought to raise public awareness of Macau’s responsible gaming policies and the efforts to prevent and address gambling disorders.

Recently, GEG also partnered with the AJVM to organize a “Responsible Gaming Role Play” activity, allowing team members to step into the shoes of the characters of the script, experience the challenges and struggles faced by individuals with gambling disorders, and understand the impact of every action and decision they make in the game, in hopes of deepening their understanding of responsible gaming.

GEG has also been active in community outreach concerning responsible gaming. Earlier this year, its volunteer team participated, for the second consecutive year, in the “Avoid Gambling Addiction for Healthy Life” community education activity led by the Youth Volunteer Association of Macao. Additionally, GEG facilitated activities for team members and their children as part of the “On-site Experience Program of Healthy Life Education Corner” hosted by the Bosco Youth Service Network. These activities, including booth games and workshops on parent-child picture books, were intended to instill proper financial management knowledge and promote responsible gaming behaviors to the public and team members.

According to the company, to date it has organized over 350 responsible gaming-related activities, engaging nearly 200,000 team members.
