  • GEG has now supported UGAMM’s series of events for 11 consecutive years.

The “ Respect and Love the Elderly and Celebration of the Elders Day – 2024 Happy Half-Day Tour”, organized by the General Union of Neighborhood Associations of Macau (UGAMM) and co-organized by the Holy House of Mercy of Macau, with sponsorship from Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), was recently held. The event saw 80 seniors over the age of 60, accompanied by 20 members of the GEG Volunteer Team, visit Galaxy Macau and Broadway Macau.

During the tour, the seniors enjoyed lunch at Broadway Food Street with the volunteers while representatives from GEG management including Mr. Buddy Lam, Director of Corporate Affairs of GEG; Ms. Linda Wong, Assistant Senior Vice President of Public Relations of GEG; Ms. Carol Tai, Vice President of External Affairs of GEG; and Ms. Annie Loi, Assistant Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility of Public Relations of GEG, presented them with Mid-Autumn Festival mooncake gift boxes. The volunteers also organized a fun lantern riddle game, which received enthusiastic participation from the seniors. Those who answered riddles correctly were awarded peacock-shaped lanterns of “Wavey the Peacock”, Galaxy Kidz’s mascot, as souvenirs.

After lunch, the seniors visited the GalaxyArt space at Galaxy Macau to view the “EGGSPRESSION – AN IMMERSIVE ART EXPERIENCE” exhibition. They also visited the Diamond Lobby and Crystal Lobby to watch the “Galaxy Macau Diamond Show” and “Crystal Lobby Show”, and admired the festive lantern decorations for Mid-Autumn Festival and the “Double Celebrations”.

This marks the 11th consecutive year GEG has sponsored the UGAMM-led event series, aiming to bring warmth, care and respect to Macau’s elderly and brighten their daily lives.

Over the year, GEG said that past collaborations with UGAMM haveincluded organizing regular volunteer visits to elderly families of Peng On Tung since 2010, hosting civil defense knowledge seminars, and distributing holiday gift bags and supplies. Since 2011, GEG has also made multiple donations to the “UGAMM Peng On Tung Charity Foundation”, and since 2016 has title-sponsored the Community Caring Program to promote the spirit of mutual assistance and care for the community.
