- Galaxy Macau’s tea ambassador team won the championship at the “MingXing Tea Specialists National Final Competition” for the GBA.
- The team will represent the region in the national grand final in December 2024.
The tea ambassadors from Galaxy Macau have claimed the top prize at the 11th “MingXing Tea Specialists National Final Competition” for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, held in early October at Galaxy International Convention Center.
Led by primary tea master Crystal Lu and assistant Jenny Chen, the team outshone 15 competitors to win the championship. They will represent the Greater Bay Area in the national grand final set to take place in December 2024.
Lu, Galaxy Macau’s tea ambassador, demonstrated her expertise in Lingnan Kung Fu tea, choosing Guangxi Liu Bao tea for the competition. Renowned for its unique aroma and moisture-removing qualities, Liu Bao tea has a storied past. Dating back to the late Qing Dynasty, when southern Chinese immigrants carried their traditions abroad, Liu Bao tea became a symbolic connection to their homeland. During the competition, Lu paid homage to those who ventured overseas but never forgot their roots by presenting a cup of Liu Bao tea.
Galaxy Macau has long been committed to promoting Chinese tea culture. In addition to offering premium teas at its Chinese restaurants, the resort encourages its tea ambassadors to actively participate in cultural exchanges. Notably, last year’s overall champion of the 10th National Tea Master Selection Competition was Galaxy Macau’s very own Iris Yang, reflecting the company’s dedication to nurturing talent. This year, Galaxy Macau once again sent a strong team and served as the venue partner for the competition for the second year running.
Looking ahead, Galaxy Macau said it will uphold its commitment to blending traditional Chinese culture with modern innovation. The company continues to share the beauty of tradition with the world, aiming to contribute to cultural exchange and global prosperity through its efforts in Macau and beyond.
