MGM and Fuhong Society of Macau team up for sixth year to host World Mental Health Day events

  • The event saw individuals in mental health recovery and community members work together to create two large-scale artworks using five different crafts.

For the sixth consecutive year, the Fuhong Society of Macau and MGM have joined forces to host a series of events on the annual World Mental Health Day, aiming to increase public awareness and understanding of mental health recovery while dispelling common misconceptions and prejudices through the support and participation of the broader community.

This year’s events saw 23 local schools, social organizations and enterprises invited, with around 300 participants coming together to create two large-scale art pieces using five different art crafts: zentangle, stamp painting, sticker painting, cloisonné and diamond painting. The artworks beautifully incorporated elements of Macau’s iconic landmarks and MGM’s architectural design.

The event also featured a special performance by the lead singer of the Fuhong Society of Macau LIFE BAND and students from the Pou Lei Center, delighting the audience with their talents.

Since 2018, the Fuhong Society of Macau and MGM have collaborated annually around 10 October, World Mental Health Day, organizing various events with themes centered on sports, rehabilitation, culture and the arts. These activities aim to raise awareness of mental health and promote its importance within the community.

The Fuhong Society of Macau expressed its gratitude to MGM for its long-standing generosity and unwavering support for the organization’s services. In particular, the close collaboration between the two parties during the annual World Mental Health Day series has been instrumental in raising public awareness of mental health issues. Both MGM and the Fuhong Society of Macau said they hope to continue fostering greater public understanding of mental health recovery and eliminate misconceptions and biases through the power of community involvement.
