In December 2024, SJM Resorts, S.A. invited 40 representatives from the tourism industries of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia to participate in its “The Legend of Macau Experience Tour”.

The three-day experiential event showcased a variety of tourism facilities at SJM’s flagship Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, featuring diverse culinary experiences and newly launched themed amusement areas.

The delegation, consisting of representatives from travel agencies, airlines and MICE planning firms, also explored the central district of Macau – the San Ma Lo district – delving into the region’s rich historical and cultural heritage. In addition, they visited several iconic landmarks such as the Grand Lisboa, Hotel Lisboa, Ponte 16 and Kam Pek Market, gaining a deeper appreciation for the city’s vibrant atmosphere and urban landscape.

The representatives expressed that the tour provided valuable insights into Macau’s cultural and tourism advantages, which enabled them to promote the destination more effectively to global travelers.

Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM, stated that the event not only showcased Macau’s rich “Tourism+” elements, but also served as an opportunity for in-depth discussions to understand better the specific needs of different local markets. These insights will lay the foundation for developing future tourism experiences and projects tailored to market demand.

The company further noted that it hopes to strengthen its partnerships with industry players through this event, opening up more collaborative opportunities and attracting more international visitors to experience Macau’s unique charm.
