Chinese New Year film Hit N Fun holds global premiere at Studio City Cinema

  • Studio City welcomes the global premiere of Hong Kong action-comedy blockbuster Hit N Fun.
  • Several scenes were filmed at Studio City’s Epic Tower and Water Park.

The 2025 Chinese New Year Hong Kong action-comedy film Hit N Fun, sponsored by Studio City, is scheduled for release on 28 January, Chinese New Year’s Eve, with its global premiere having taken place on 18 January at the Studio City Cinema.

At the premiere, director Albert Mak, alongside renowned actors Louis Koo, Gigi Leung, Louise Wong, Peter Chan and Macau artist Vivian Chan, attended to promote the film.

Mak shared that the film’s Macau setting highlights the cultural and lifestyle similarities between Hong Kong and Macau while showcasing their unique differences, making it more relatable for Hong Kong audiences. He also noted that Macau’s blend of historic and modern architecture enriches the film’s visual appeal.

Several key scenes were filmed at Studio City’s Epic Tower and Water Park, as well as other iconic Macau landmarks, including Albergue 1601.

By sponsoring Hit N Fun and bringing its global premiere to Macau, the company aims to highlight the city’s cultural and tourism allure to audiences across Asia and beyond, he added.

Studio City, a cinematic-themed integrated resort under Melco Resorts & Entertainment, is home to Studio City Cinema, which opened in mid-June 2024. The cinema features state-of-the-art Dolby sound systems and includes the first “Dolby Cinema” in Macau and Hong Kong.
