GEG participates in the 2025 MIECF to promote sustainability and green living

  • GEG supported the 2025 MIECF as a Green Partner, promoting eco-friendly concepts and initiatives to foster green and sustainable development.
  • The company’s “Upcycled Waste Pavilion” exhibition booth won the “Green Booth Award”.

The “2025 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition” (MIECF) concluded in late March, with Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) participating as a Green Partner. GEG proactively supports China’s “dual carbon” goals and the Macao SAR Government’s environmental policies by presenting a series of impactful eco-initiatives.

Over the three-day exhibition, GEG featured a dedicated “Upcycled Waste Pavilion” exhibition booth, spotlighting its achievements and innovations in environmental protection. The pavilion displayed a variety of eco-friendly products made from recycled plastic and sustainable bamboo, including an exclusive marathon windbreaker made from recycled plastic bottles in collaboration with local SMEs for the “2024 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon”, bamboo-packaged in-room amenities and rPET-crafted souvenirs from the group’s immersive art event.

Designed with the concept of “replacing plastic with bamboo, turning waste into treasure”, the pavilion was also advanced with 3D printing technology. It earned the “Green Booth Award” from the Macau Fair & Trade Association and Macao Low Carbon Development Association for the third consecutive year.

GEG was the first integrated tourism and leisure enterprise in Macau to implement “Bamboo as a Substitute for Plastic” (BASP) practices at scale, with over 90% of hotels across its properties now equipped with eco-friendly bamboo amenities in hotel rooms.

Coinciding with MIECF’s “Green Public Day”, GEG also partnered with local environmental group Green Future to host a series of “Recycled Plastic Art Workshops”, offering hands-on education on the recycling process accompanied by Wavey, the Peacock of Galaxy Kidz, and inviting participants to create their own accessories – promoting sustainability and raising public environmental awareness.

GEG’s commitment has garnered numerous accolades, including the most EarthCheck certifications and 2025 Forbes Responsible Hospitality VERIFIED™ Badges among Macau’s integrated resorts, as well as multiple Macao Green Hotel awards across its hotel brands.
