Wynn hosts “2025 Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards” at Wynn Palace

  • Wynn recently hosted the 2025 Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards at Wynn Palace.
  • A global promotion plan will be rolled out for the award-winning wines.

Created by Wynn exclusive lifestyle brand “Wynn Signature”, the 2025 Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards was held on 11 April at Wynn Palace, attracting more than 200 wine experts, industry professionals and international media from around the world to witness the unveiling of the annual awards.

This year, the judging panel consisted of 27 of the world’s leading wine experts, including 10 Masters of Wine (MW), three Masters of Sommeliers (MS), as well as one industry expert with dual MW and MS certifications, including Vice Chair of the Competition, Fongyee Walker MW and Panel Chair of the Competition, Xing Wei MW.

The judging panel evaluated about 900 wines from nearly 200 Chinese wineries in a blind tasting and awarded bronze medals (85-89 points), silver medals (90-94 points) and gold medals (95-100 points) using the international 100-point system.

From those awarded gold medals they also selected the “Wynn Signature Best Wine of China Trophy” and the trophies for wines across three divisions of “Wynn Signature Trophies”, “Varietals Champion Trophies” and “Regional Champion Trophies”. Wynn introduced two new award categories this year: “Wynn Sommelier’s Choice” and “Best Young Winemaker”.

After the professional judging process, Ningxia Helan Mountain Renyiyuan Winery’s Renyiyuan Tao Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 was named “Best Wine of China” as well as “Best Red Wine”, “Best of Ningxia” and “Best Cabernet Sauvignon”.

In addition, its winemaker Kai Kang was named “Best Young Winemaker”. The Helan Mountain Special Reserve Chardonnay 2021 won “Best White Wine” and “Best Chardonnay”, while the Sacred Snow Mountain Winery Hualuoxiangyun Icewine 2023 won “Best Sweet Wine”.

Commenting on Wynn’s hosting of the Chinese Wine Awards, President, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Wynn Macau, Limited, Linda Chen, said, “This honor will further strengthen Macau’s strategic positioning as ‘a platform for international exchange where Chinese culture is the mainstream and diverse cultures coexist’, giving visitors an opportunity to appreciate China’s rich and profound cultural heritage.

“We will continue our visionary approach toward advancing the culinary industry with innovative ideas in future. Macau serves as the perfect international platform to showcase wines and we also look forward to continuing to host world-class wine events to promote Chinese wines on the global stage.”

Award-winning wine global promotion plan
The Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards aims to provide a strategic support and promotion platform for quality Chinese wines to grow internationally. After the competition, Wynn announced the launch of a global promotion plan and with the support of the Macau SAR Government will participate in the program of the “Culture City of East Asia 2025 – Macao, China” with the 2025 Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards to showcase the charm of Chinese culture.

All the award-winning Chinese wines will be featured on the daily wine lists of Wynn’s leading restaurants, including Chef Tam’s Seasons and Lakeview Palace at Wynn Palace. A wine tasting event will be held at 67 Pall Mall in Singapore, where members and professionals will be invited to taste the wines. In addition, these wines will participate in various tastings and international exhibitions to further expand their influence in the international market.

GEG supports Grand Thought Think Tank inauguration ceremony and seminar

On September 12, the swearing-in ceremony for the fourth-term governing bodies of the Grand Thought Think Tank, along with a seminar titled “New Opportunities and Pathways for Macau’s Development under the New Blueprint of the 15th Five-Year Plan”, was held at Banyan Tree Macau.
