Organized by the Association for the Promotion of Chinese Ethnic Unity, it aims to promote ethnic unity and cultural exchange through displays of China’s outstanding traditional culture, ethnic dance and musical instrument performances, enabling compatriots of all ethnicities to celebrate the festive occasion together.

Vong Veng Hin, President of the Association, along with key members of the organization, recently visited the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR and the Macao Daily News, among other institutions, to engage in in-depth discussions regarding event preparations, cultural promotion and publicity, receiving enthusiastic support from multiple parties.

Since 2012, “Chinese ethnicities as one family” has been held annually in Macau, establishing itself as a vital platform for fostering cultural exchange among the people of mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. The event aims to integrate ethnic arts with humanistic sentiments, conveying profound bonds of national unity through song, dance and visual media.

This year marks the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Restoration of Taiwan. The theme has been set as “Salute to Victory”, signifying the importance of remembering history and cherishing the hard-won fruits of peace.

This year’s program features greater diversity than previous editions. The organizers will produce an album compiling 17 outstanding performances, encompassing songs, dances, ethnic instrument performances and opera.

The organizers said they hope that, through the Mid-Autumn Festival, compatriots across the strait and in Hong Kong and Macau share a time of reunion through music and dance to further strengthen bonds of national affection, contributing to the promotion of cultural heritage and social harmony.
