GEG supports the Macao International Dragon Boat Races for 21st consecutive year

  • GEG is fielding seven dragon boat teams in its 21st consecutive year in the Macao International Dragon Boat Races.

Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has been actively supporting the Macao SAR Government’s sports development initiatives and continues to back major international sporting events in Macau. This year, marking its 21st consecutive year of participation in the Macao International Dragon Boat Races, GEG is fielding seven dragon boat teams, composed of team members from its various properties.

On 27 May, GEG held a traditional blessing ceremony for the dragon boats at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre to cheer on the participating teams. The ceremony was attended by Eileen Lui, Group Director of Human Resources and Administration of GEG; James Koratzopoulos, Executive Vice President of Hotel and MICE Operations of GEG; and other GEG management representatives, who officiated traditional rituals, including the cleansing and eye-dotting of the dragon boats.

The executives offered blessings for GEG’s seven dragon boat teams and joined team members in the ceremonial cutting of roasted pigs and the distribution of red packets, wishing all teams success in the competition and outstanding results.

Tyson Hoi, Captain of the GEG Dragon Boat Team, said, “The company has always given strong support to the dragon boat team by providing structured training arrangements and resources, enabling us to continuously improve our techniques and team coordination. All members of the GEG Dragon Boat Team are fully prepared and look forward to showcasing the results of our hard work in training, demonstrating teamwork, giving our all and striving for excellent results in the races.”

GEG has established multiple sports teams through the GEG Staff Social Club to promote physical wellbeing and work-life balance.
