  • Ten dragon boat teams from SJM compete in the “2026 SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races.”
  • SJM fields a total of 86 athletes, competing in five race categories.

SJM Resorts, S.A. (SJM) held a special Dragon Boat Team Blessing Ceremony at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre to bring luck to its 10 dragon boat teams competing in the “2026 SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races.”

Senior management came together to witness the lion eye-dotting ceremony and blessing rituals, wishing the athletes a smooth competition and victorious performances on the water.

Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM, said: “Dragon boat racing integrates sport, ritual and folk tradition, making it a vital expression of Chinese civilization and a cherished piece of intangible cultural heritage. For many years, SJM has partnered with the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR and the Dragon Boat Association of Macau, China to co-organize the Macao International Dragon Boat Races, using the event as a platform to champion the preservation and development of dragon boat sport.”

SJM’s 10 competitive teams bring together 86 athletes, participating in five race categories: Open (200m and 500m), Women’s (200m and 500m), and Mixed (500m).

At last year’s Macao International Dragon Boat Races, SJM’s dragon boat teams claimed the Championship in the Standard Dragon Boat (500m) Women’s Category B and placed 4th in the Open category, ranking among the top in the industry. At the Macao Dragon Boat Races, SJM placed 1st in the Standard Dragon Boat (500m) Mixed category, 2nd in the Women’s category, and 3rd in the Open category. In the Macao Small Dragon Boat Races (200m), the teams also achieved 2nd and 3rd in the Open category, as well as 3rd in the Women’s category.
