MGM has joined forces with renowned Macanese chef Antonieta Fernandes Manhão (Chef Neta) and the Association of Macao Fine Cuisine and Culture to launch the month-long “Casa to MGM: A Celebration of Macanese Cuisine” from 6 June to 5 July at Rossio, MGM MACAU.

The celebration is part of MGM’s commitment to reinforcing Macau’s status as a “Creative City of Gastronomy,” showcasing its unique East-West culinary culture, with Rossio providing the perfect backdrop for the curated Macanese menu – “A Living Table of Macau.” The dishes on the limited-time menu were inspired by the recipes of Chef Neta’s award-winning cookbook “Receita di Casa- Homemade Macanese Cuisine,” featuring traditional plates such as Macanese Prawn Lacassa, Mixed Minchi, Shrimp with White Radish Curry and Pork Ribs with Balichão and Tamarind.

A special “Heritage Encounter with Chef Neta” was held to mark the launch of the program on 6 and 7 June, featuring a book signing and a sharing session led by Chef Nata and Dorris Lei, the cookbook’s editor. The event also included a special pastry masterclass, where participants were guided in creating traditional Macanese cornstarch biscuits.
Macanese cuisine is listed as part of Macau’s intangible cultural heritage and is formally recognized by UNESCO. Keeping the culinary tradition alive, MGM has hosted numerous training programs and initiatives in collaboration with Chef Neta, even supporting her team’s participation in the “Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2025” in Saudi Arabia, where her cookbook received both the “Best Trilingual Cookbook” and “Best Portuguese Cookbook” award.
