The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, often hailed as the “Oscars of the Global Creative Industry,” recently concluded in France. As one of the representative attendees, Ken Ao, President of the Macau Internet Communication Association, brought Macau to Cannes, actively engaged in global creative exchanges.
The industry expert connected with leading international digital communication broadcasters, building a bridge to connect Macau with the global creative industry.
This year’s festival gathered industry elites from over 100 countries and regions, covering authoritative categories such as brand creativity, digital communication, and sports marketing.
Reflecting on the event, Ao praised the strong visibility of Asian and Chinese brands on the international stage, noting there is still room for growth. The industry insider opined that promoting the international communication of city culture requires the broad participation of local creative enterprises. He further pushed for industry professionals to proactively step onto top international platforms to familiarize themselves with international communication methods and industry rules.

The hope now is for more local industry peers to participate in major international events in the future while, at the same time, actively introducing high-quality international creative resources into Macau to extend local talents’ reach across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The delegation’s trip to France yielded fruitful results. In addition to deep engagement with several senior international creators, the team reached a cooperation agreement with the creators of Million Dollar Boy on the well-known information platform Tubefilter. Together, the plan is to promote content collaboration among Greater Bay Area creators and facilitate exchange visits for overseas creators.
