• GEG supported the Grand Thought Think Tank in hosting its swearing-in ceremony for members of the fourth-term governing bodies and seminar through the “GEG Venue Partnership Pilot Program.”

On September 12, the swearing-in ceremony for the fourth-term governing bodies of the Grand Thought Think Tank, along with a seminar titled “New Opportunities and Pathways for Macau’s Development under the New Blueprint of the 15th Five-Year Plan”, was held at Banyan Tree Macau. Organized by Grand Thought Think Tank with partial funding from the Macao Foundation, the event received GEG’s venue support through the “GEG Venue Partnership Pilot Program”. Around 180 representatives from various sectors, organizations, and higher education institutions attended to discuss Macau’s future development opportunities.

Distinguished attendees included Mr. Chui Sai On, the third and fourth-term Chief Executive of Macau SAR; Ms. O Lam, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture; Mr. Guan Yanbin, Director-General of the Social Work Department (Research Office) of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR; Mr. Ma Chi Seng and Mr. Ho Ka Lun, Founding and Current Presidents of Grand Thought Think Tank; Mr. Francis Lui, Chairman of GEG; and Mr. Buddy Lam, Director of Corporate Affairs of GEG.

Following the swearing-in ceremony for the fourth-term governing bodies, a specialized seminar was held to examine the new opportunities created for Macau under the nation’s 15th Five-Year Plan. Professor Zhong Yun, Deputy Dean of the College of Economics and Deputy Dean of the “Belt and Road” Initiative and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Research Institute at Jinan University, served as the keynote speaker. Along with several other experts and scholars, Professor Zhong engaged in in-depth discussions on Macau’s future development pathways and new opportunities for integration into national development strategies, approaching the topic from multiple perspectives.
